About me and how I work

American by birth, I have a B.A. and an M.A. in English (obtained in the U.S.) and a Ph.D in French (obtained in France).  I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Madagascar from 1995 to 1998, working as an English teacher-trainer.  From 1999 to 2012, I lived in Montpellier, where I taught English and French at the local university as well as providing freelance language services, before moving to Bristol and becoming a full-time translator and proofreader.

I am equally comfortable translating into British or American English.

I work with Microsoft Word and Open Office as well as SDL Trados Studio, WordFast Classic and Across translation software.  I refer to a large number of dictionaries in my possession and on-line.
